2008 CANALSIDE EVENTS & FUNDRAISER

Not all of the events are organised by the Mon/Brec Trust but are included to support the Various organsations and businesses on and off the canal effected by the canal breach in this difficult year.
1st March- the first of the monthly-organised walks at 14 locks.
22nd March open day at Pontymoile basin,stalls on site,cooked food,hire a boat or bring your own
23rd March Pontymoil Easter Egg Hunt.
4th April FREE Boat trips at the Open Hearth sponsored by Torfaen Council.
12th April Canals Trust A.G.M Annual Datford Dinner etc at the Open Hearth,Griffithstown;BOOK EARLY.
3rd May In Newport at lock 34 Malpas "Volunteers Wanted" to launch/retrieve Edith-Elizabeth.
3rd May the G.B.O.A Five locks Rally;see the colours of the boats attending this years rally,stalls & BBQ.
17th May Social Evening and fundraiser at the Waterside Rest Goytre Wharf, special menu at £6.95 each-Fish or Scampi or Chicken with chips. Fun Quiz & music.Please Book Early...
13th,14th,15th June South Wales Boat Show at Margam Park, near Port Talbot.
21st June Fun day at Goytre Wharf, stalls and entertainment, boat trips by the Trust,11am-5pm.Association AGM in the evening
6th July coach trip to the Cotswolds Canals Trust's annual Saul Boat Festival,Folk music, real ales,Stalls etc.
24th August "duck race Lottery" goes ahead, possibly at Llangynidr
14th Sept Boat trips on the lake at Tredegar House in Newport supporting the annual classic car show.
